‘Understand that, just as a bird needs two wings to fly, we need to develop wisdom and compassion simultaneously’ – Asian saying
This 1 day mini retreat will explore the embodiment of mindfulness, wisdom and compassion and how we can integrate and balance these valuable qualities in our life and teaching. There will be a mixture of practicing in silence, guided exercises and an exploration of specific themes in an interpersonal way through zoom breakout rooms.
About Frits Koster
Frits Koster has practiced vipassana meditation since 1979. He was a Buddhist monk for six years in the 80’s. Since then, he and his colleague Erik van den Brink, developed a secular follow-up compassion training. This training is called Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL). Frits and Erik offer Teacher Training Programmes on MBCL throughout the world and wrote several books on MBCL. The British and the Dutch associations for mindfulness teachers (the BAMBA and the VMBN) and the EAMBA European Associations for Mindfulness, have officially recognised MBCL as a ‘normal dose follow-up’ Mindfulness-Based Programme (MBP) – for those who have followed a foundational MBP such as MBSR or MBCT before.
