Colette Kealy worked as a vet in small animal practice for c. 20 years, worked for a time in community development and is now working in further education.
She completed a MSc in Mindfulness Based Interventions in the UCD School of Psychology and a Diploma in yoga teaching from Yoga Therapy Ireland.
Colette regularly attends retreats and further trainings, eg in Somatic Movement (Lisa Petersen), Trauma Sensitive Yoga (Boston Trauma Center) and with the University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre (MBCT for Life and Finding Peace in a Frantic World) and Bangor University (MBCT specialist). She is currently studying yoga therapy with the Institute of Yoga Therapy in the Netherlands.
Colette teaches on the Mindfulness for Health module offered to Health Science students in UCD. She offers mindfulness in workplace settings and yoga/mindful movement to the general public. She supports students as as a practice mentor and teaching supervisor on the UCD Masters in Mindfulness programme.
Colette has a particular interest in cultivating a befriending of the body through mindful movement/gentle yoga and offers this to individuals and to small groups.
