About Dominic Cogan

I have been involved in education as a teacher and teacher trainer in Ireland and abroad for many years. Since 2014 I have been working full-time in the design and delivery of mindfulness and wellbeing courses. I facilitate courses in the widely researched Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to the general public and organise mindfulness and wellbeing workshops in Dublin and the surrounding counties. I also offer introductory courses in mindfulness to community groups, businesses and public sector organisations and offers one-to-one mindfulness training and coaching on request.

Training Provision

To date, I have provided training in Wellbeing and Mindfulness for organisations such as Intel, Glanbia, the EPA, Silver Cloud Health,, Cisco Systems, Ulster Bank and City of Dublin ETB, DIT and UCC, the Irish Wheelchair Association etc. In addition, I have worked with HSE medical staff, in both Naas and Athlone as well as an ongoing mental health initiative organised by Meath Local Sports Partnership, the Young Social Innovators Programme, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI).

I am a visiting tutor and mentor for The Mindfulness Centre Teacher Training Diploma and also a supervisor for the UCD Masters in Mindfulness Based Interventions. In addition I am on the panel of trainers for the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) .b training for teachers course in association with The Sanctuary. I am currently a board member of the MTAI and am responsible for co-ordinating its Mindfulness in Education Special Interest Group.

I teach MBSR and MBCL courses to the general public and organise mindfulness workshops in Dublin and the surrounding counties. In addition, I offer introductory courses in mindfulness to community groups, businesses and public sector organisations and offers one-to-one mindfulness training on request. As well as teaching secular mindfulness and wellness programmes, I also run retreats and courses in mindfulness as spiritual practice. I also teach .b Mindfulness for teens and Paws b Mindfulness for children  in schools as well as the Parenting Skills Adolescents Programme. I currently offer free mindfulness Drop-In sessions for the MTAI, The Sanctuary and The Mindfulness Centre (

I continue to upgrade my professional training through attendance at workshops such as trauma sensitive mindfulness teaching, mindfulness based supervision etc. I regularly attend retreats and conferences related to mindfulness  as well as maintaining a daily mindfulness practice. I adhere to the Good Practice Guidelines set out by the MTAI.
