Erica Balfour – BSc (Environmental Science), Grad Dip Psychotherapy, Dip Counselling Skills, Dip in Mindfulness Based Interventions, Dip in Mindful Communication member of the MTAI (Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland).
Erica is a certified Mindfulness teacher, who has been trained with The Mindfulness Centre for Professional Training. She is also trained in counselling and psychotherapy and has a background in research. She recently completed a Diploma in Mindful Communication with Greenzone Institute.
Erica’s personal practice of mindfulness spans a period of over 10 years and began as a way to cope with the anxiety of parenting two babies & navigating the grief of losing her mother to breast cancer. She discovered that over time, through a daily mindfulness practice she was able to break cycles of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion. Now that her daughters are teenagers her mindfulness practice is a huge resource to her!
Erica teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) which is an evidence-based, user-friendly programme that brings the principles of mindfulness meditation into everyday life by teaching specific skills and practices which help us to:
Cultivate more concentration and capacity to be in the moment with what matters to you most, here and now.
Reduce reactivity, learn to befriend your emotions and to express them in ways that set clear and caring boundaries.
See your patterns and values with more clarity so that your actions can be more beneficial to yourself and others.
Erica adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines set out by the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland.
