Mindfulness was recommended to me by my counsellor as I have a busy mind and I am a worrier. I have found the practise very beneficial in bringing peace of mind and acceptance. I have been practising mindful meditation for 10 years, since completing an MBSR course in 2010. I qualified as a teacher with the IMA in 2017. I have taught MBSR courses in Community Well, Donabate for the last 3 years, as well as Days of Mindfulness and I run a weekly drop-in meditation session there. I also teach an Introduction to Mindfulness Course to adults in Portmarnock Community School and facilitate mindfulness sessions as part of a Mental Healthcare outpatient programme.
