On Sunday, May 22nd 2022, the MTAI (Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland) is offering to introduce the simple skill of walking mindfully.
There is so much going on in the world that is extremely challenging and worrying. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, hopeless at times, or depleted and down. Mindful walking may lessen the endless unhelpful mental chatter and give you some moments of peace. As the words of the renowned spiritual leader, Thich Nhat Hanh, encourage us: to ‘be peace’ if we want peace in the world.
What can we do for ourselves and others?
Learning and practising walking mindfully is available to all of us no matter where you are. It is a simple way to care for ourselves physically and emotionally.
On Sunday morning, May 22nd, you are welcome to join us to share the joy of walking mindfully. To support you we have a video clip ‘here’ offering some tips on how to approach this very ordinary activity in a mindful way. Downloadable guided mindful walking audio clips are also available ‘here’.
We will be live on Instagram ‘here’ at 9.30 am where one of our MTAI experienced members will offer a 30 minute practice in an urban setting.
You can choose to walk on your own or involve some family or friends. You can walk anywhere inside or outside; in a flat, garden, a park, forest. Even if, for whatever reason, you cannot walk at the moment it might be possible to imagine walking?
