About Alicia

Approach, Philosophy and Specialisation

My approach is deeply informed by my lived experience and a commitment to creating spaces where people can connect safely & authentically with themselves. It is rooted in kindness, lightness, and presence. My intention is to support people in nurturing new, loving relationships with themselves. I hold the view that there is nothing to fix or change—only the opportunity to build the capacity to meet and welcome what is arising, just as it is.

My work is grounded in experiential practice. I often incorporate somatic exercises & mindful enquiry to help gently uncover and release patterns & conditioning that may be keeping someone stuck.

I specialise in trauma-informed, body-based mindfulness, drawing from modalities such as Nervous System Theory, Somatic Experiencing, Breathwork, Embodied Meditation, Journaling, Artwork, and Compassion Practices.

Professional Background

What matters most in my work is that it’s grounded in lived experience. I come from a background (years ago now!) in management and organisational roles, but nothing has shaped me more deeply than my own personal journey — living and breathing the practices I now share with others.

Over the years, I’ve trained in a range of modalities including Trauma-Informed Mindfulness, Compassionate Inquiry, Somatic Experiencing® (currently in training), Embodied Processing, and Nervous System Regulation. I’ve also explored a wide spectrum of healing approaches such as energy work, functional medicine, yoga, and qigong.

I truly love what I do, and I’m always learning — curious and open to new insights, practices, and ways of supporting myself and thereby others on their own path. For me, this isn’t just work — it’s a passion ❤️.

Teaching Experience and Personal Mindfulness Practice

I’ve been practicing mindfulness for over 16 years and have studied with a range of teachers across the fields of wellbeing, recovery, and embodiment. My personal practice includes mindfulness meditation, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation — all of which deeply inform how I teach and hold safe space for others.

As a teacher and facilitator, I’ve delivered mindfulness and wellbeing programs in a variety of settings, including addiction recovery services, mental health organizations, and community-based supports. I’ve worked with Turas Training and volunteered with the Simon Community, bringing mindfulness and compassion-based practices into detox and recovery environments. I’ve also facilitated programs with Threshold Training and Gerri’s Place, both of which focus on mental health and wellbeing.

In addition to group work, I offer one-to-one Somatic Mindfulness Coaching. I’m currently in the process of integrating Somatic Experiencing® into group settings — weaving together mindfulness, body-based inquiry, and trauma-informed care to support healing, resilience, and connection.

Courses and Services Overview

I offer two main services:

  1. One-to-one Somatic Mindfulness Coaching
  2. Bespoke Workshops & Courses

All of my offerings are trauma-informed, experiential, and designed to be engaging, supportive, restorative and playful. If you’re curious about how my work could support you or your team, I’d love to connect.

1) Somatic Mindfulness One-to-One Coaching

Somatic Mindfulness Coaching weaves together body awareness and mindfulness to support people in reconnecting with their physical, emotional, and mental experiences — creating space for personal growth and well-being. The process is grounding and spacious, always meeting you where you are, and gently guiding you through the processing of difficult emotions, while fostering more balance, ease, and joy.

Each session offers a deeply personalised and experiential space to explore embodied practices and inquiry — helping to deepen awareness of your relationship with your body, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, and how they live and imprint in you. No two sessions are the same – each one supports you in finding regulation, cultivating self-understanding, and nurturing a more loving, compassionate relationship with yourself.

2) Bespoke Mindfulness & Compassion Programs

I design and deliver trauma-informed workshops and courses that combine evidence-based tools with embodied practice, creativity, and connection. These can be tailored to your group or organisation.

Sample Courses Include:

  • Mindfulness & Compassion: A Gentle Beginning (8 weeks) – An accessible, heart-centered introduction to mindfulness and self-kindness.
  • The Inner Compass: Awareness, Choice & Change (10 weeks) – A deeper dive into self-awareness, regulation, and embodied living, offering practical tools for emotional well-being.
