About Seamus

I am an experienced Mindfulness teacher living in Crosshaven, Co. Cork.  I have delivered courses in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)  in Cork City at the Ennismore Retreat Centre, Scala Retreat and Conference Centre,  and in Carrigaline, Co. Cork.
I have a particular interest in Mindful Parenting having written a research thesis on this topic as part of completing my thesis at Bangor University, Wales where I was awarded an MSc with distinction in 2017. I have taught Mindful Parenting at Douglas Community School, Carrigaline Community School, and as an ACE (Adult Continuing Education) course at University College Cork. In 2022, I completed teacher training in Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living.
Prior to becoming a Mindfulness teacher I held the position of Deputy Librarian at University College Cork (UCC) where I held extensive management responsibilities including Operational Management, Training and Development, HR, and Health and Safety. I have experience offering 6 week training courses on Mindfulness in the Workplace to staff in the Corporate sector.
In addition to membership of the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland (MTAI), I am a registered member of the Teaching Council of Ireland, and a member of the Irish Federation of University Teachers.
On a personal level I have experienced the benefits and enrichment of a daily mindfulness practice which has benefited all facets of my life including family and work. I attend regular retreats, and I have a professional supervisor in line with best practice guidelines for mindfulness teachers. I have personally found the practice of Mindfulness to be a path towards peace and happiness in my life and in my relationships. I really enjoy teaching Mindfulness.
