Arising out of my practice and experience in professional psychology (clinical and educational), I come to mindfulness-based work with an ever-present wish to support others in finding their way to reclaiming their own well-being and discovering the wealth of treasure that lies within.  Mindfulness has many doors to offer as a way of finding our way home to ourselves, each other and the planet. With kindly curiosity and sensitive guiding, let’s see what we can discover together.

Professional Background

My professional background is in Clinical and Educational Psychology. I am a Chartered Clnical Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. My PhD is in Educatonal Psychology. For 30 years I have worked across across health, education and private sectors.

In addition to teaching mindfulness in these areas, I currently operate a private psychology practice for adults, both on-line and in person in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. In all my work i seek to co-create safe and nonjudgemental listening spaces with others.

I am committed to the integration of evidence-based mindfulness and psychology that supports stability, creativity and connection.

Teaching Experience and Personal Mindfulness Practice

My first doorway into mindfulness was through the practice of mindful movement yoga. There I was invited to connect with the breath and body and as I experienced a breather from the constant chattering, driven-doing mind, I found myself landing in the present moment.

In 2008 I was re-introduced to Jon Kabat Zinn’s MBSR programme through his book, Full Catastrophe Living and my mind was opened to the truly practical and simple yet deeply transformational, revealing and empowering path of mindfulness. The unexpected reveal was a reconnection with joy and a simple pathway that helps to heal old wounds, let go of future fears and remember stability and steadiness in this ever-unfolding and changing world.

The science and evidence-base for mindfulness continues to deepen and together with my personal practice experience, this encourages me to share with others. I have been teaching mindfulness since 2014 as a way of sharing and exploring with others the gift of mindfulness that I continue to discover everyday.

I have the joy of deepening my experience of mindfulness by taking regular extended silent retreats across Ireland, UK and Europe with incredible teachers and fellow wonderers. Staying in contact with this breadth and depth of wisdom is vital for me as a teacher or facilitator of this work with others.
