A recently updated version of the MBSR Curriculum and Teaching guide has been released internationally for all teachers to review and give feedback on. This new curriculum contains a much fuller exploration of both the essence and format of the MBSR curriculum and will be a valuable resource, not just to trainee teachers but also to established MSBR teachers.

It also contains a number of Appendices, which provide essential context to teachers who are engaged in meeting the challenges of offering MBSR in a rapidly changing world.

Dr. Eric Loucks, Professor at the School of Public Health and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and Director of the Mindfulness Center at Brown, has recently posted on Linkedin about the revised document. In the post Dr Loucks states “While Brown University has supported the design process, the curriculum itself remains an open-source resource intended for teachers and trainees everywhere.” Read the full post on LinkedIn.

The MTAI will be hosting an information and dialogue evening for members, currently planned for early December, and we sincerely hope that you will be able to attend…..more details to follow.

In the meantime, we strongly encourage you to make time to read and digest the new curriculum. To support us in making this information and dialogue session as relevant to your needs as possible, we invite you to submit your comments and queries about the new curriculum to us in advance.

Please send your feedback via the online form in this link.

The v1.0 guide was released to the public on September 9, 2025.
Here is the official first version for distribution, currently hosted on the open-source platform Open Science Framework: https://lnkd.in/eFYFpMV6.

There is a local version of this file on the MTAI website. Access the local version 1.1 here.

Note: this version will be superseded in early November by V2.0 of this document.
