What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Members area account information
Members of the MTAI will be granted access to the members’ area of the website using individual website accounts which will use their full name (so that administrators can understand which member the account belongs to) and email address (to identify the account, to enable login and for the delivery of password reset emails)
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact form
If you send a message via the contact form (On the contact us page), the message, email and name you have submitted will be emailed to info@mtai.ie. Information you provide here will be used solely for the purpose of responding to your query.
Applications for membership
If you apply for membership of the MTAI by completing the student membership or full membership application forms from the Apply for membership page, we will collect the following personal information from you in order to process your application and if you are successful in your application this information will be retained for the duration of your membership

- Address
- Phone
Cookies
Cookies related to members’ area login only
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information. Login cookies last for two days. If you select “Remember me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
You can disable the use of some or all of the cookies used by this and any other website in your browser settings, please check the support website for the internet browser you are using to visit our site. Disabling cookies may have an impact on your ability to make full use of all features of our website.

Who we share your data with
Contact form
In order to protect our contact form (On the contact us page) from bot attacks and spam and ensure we are able to respond to legitimate queries, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that the user of the form is a human. The Cloudflare Turnstile privacy policy is available here: https://www.cloudflare.com/en-gb/turnstile-privacy-policy/ . Cloudflare Turnstile processes a variety of client-side signals such as client IP address, TLS Fingerprint, User-Agent Header and Sitekey and associated origin. Cloudflare does not have the ability to directly identify any individuals from any of the signals Turnstile collects, including IP addresses.
Emails Received by the MTAI (sent to info@mtai.ie, messages received via the contact form)
The MTAI uses Google Workspace as its email service provider and as such emails received will be processed and stored by Google in accordance with the Google privacy statement here: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Membership application forms
Form platform JotForm is used to provide the application forms for membership (from the Apply for membership page), as a result the personal information collected by these forms will be processed and stored with JotForm in accordance with the JotForm privacy policy: https://www.jotform.com/privacy/
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provided to sign up (first name, last name and email) in their user profile until such time as they are no longer a member. Full members with access to create a teacher profile can view and edit their profile information (the fields of which wil depend on what information they have chosen to provide) at any time and can contact the MTAI to have their profile removed.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

- Right to rectification – you have the right to request the correction of any inaccuracies or completion of incomplete data in the personal information we have for you.
