Based in Cork, I am an experienced teacher of courses in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
I also teach courses in Mindful Parenting having written a research thesis on this topic as part of completing my MSc in Mindfulness Based Approaches at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Schools of Psychology, Bangor University, Wales. In 2017 I was awarded an MSc with distinction. I have taught Mindful Parenting at Douglas Community School, Carrigaline Community School, and as an ACE (Adult Continuing Education) course at University College Cork.
Prior to becoming a Mindfulness teacher I held the position of Deputy Librarian at University College Cork (UCC) where I held extensive management responsibilities including Training and Development, HR, and Health and Safety. I now offer training courses in Mindfulness in the Workplace, and I have delivered tailor made inhouse courses, workshops and sessions on Mindfulness in the Workplace to staff in companies and schools.
I hold a BA(hons) Degree from UCD, a Diploma in Library and Information Studies from UCD,
and a Diploma in Safety , Health and Welfare at Work from UCC.
I am a registered member of the Teaching Council of Ireland, and a member of the Irish Federation of University Teachers.
On a personal level I have experienced the benefits and enrichment of a daily mindfulness practice which has benefited all facets of my life including family and work. I attend regular retreats, and I have professional supervision in line with best practice guidelines for mindfulness teachers. I enjoy teaching Mindfulness.
